Interview Eelco Roos
1. What did attract you to accept the proposal to come and visit Catalonia
I have much love for Barcelona, and that being part of the program made me want to come visit. Luckily it didn’t stay with just Barcelona, we saw lots more of Catalunya and of course ate amazing food! Plus there were some people joining I had been following on Instagram for a long time, but I never got the chance to meet, so this was a great opportunity!
Just being able to see different countries, cities and experience new cultures makes you a free and rich person.

2. How and when did you start to use Instagram/to make videos from your trips / to write about them…?
I started when I found out that travel was a great way to do some more commercial work, but not to in your face commercial. Traveling had always been a passion. Do be able to do it for free or even paid was even better 🙂
3. Do/es Instagram/your blog/ your videos have changed the way you travel?
Just in the way that now I can visit places I couldn’t dream of before the instagram ‘succes’. I would mainly stay in Europe for holidays and now I get the chance to travel with locals and all over the world.
4. Tell us one thing that you will never forget from your visit to Catalonia
I will never forget the day we spend in Camp Nou, there was a big crowd waiting for us to say welcome to Catalunya, we met some people from the board and got the chance to get really close to the pitch. I had never been to Camp Nou and it was really impressive! Another thing I will never forget was flying over Barcelona in a helicopter, it was awesome!
5. Which is the best advice you have received?
That as a photographer you should also really appreciate the places you visit and to make sure you don’t just see the places through your lens. So now I first enjoy a place and have my eyes open for a good photo and then make time to take a good photo.

6. What does travelling mean to you?
It means freedom really, just being able to see different countries, cities and experience new cultures makes you a free and rich person.
I will never forget the day we spend in Camp Nou, there was a big crowd waiting for us to say welcome to Catalunya.
